The faculty of SICC consists of highly qualified professors, associate professors, and experienced young teachers, with good mastery of or more foreign languages. The faculty also has rich experience in teaching Chinese language and culture to foreign students.

Small classes are set up according to individual student needs, allowing for more practice and speaking time during the class. Under this method both spoken and written Chinese can be rapidly improved.

The college is located in the heart of Shanghai. It is a three minute walk from the South Shan Xi Road subway station, near Huai Hai Road and Xiang Yang Road.

Part-time Chinese courses are available

The part-time Chinese courses are especially designed for those foreigners who work in Shanghai and intend to learn Chinese in their spare time.

1. The brief introduction of the part-time Chinese courses:
The part-time Chinese courses take 8 weeks for a term (8 hours per week).
It is open for applications all year round.
Small-class teaching is offered. The number of students in one class varies from 5 (minimum) to 15 participants. If there are less than 5 participants in one class, the tuition will be charged referring to the tuition of the individual Chinese course.

2. The part-time Chinese courses in different levels:
Basic Chinese, intermediate Chinese, and advanced Chinese.

3. Curriculum and time schedule for the part-time Chinese courses:
Wed. evening: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (2 hours), Chinese reading and grammar;
Sat. morning: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (3 hours), Chinese reading and grammar;
Sat. afternoon: 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm (3 hours), listening and spoken Chinese

4. Calendar of the part-time Chinese courses in 2011 / 2012:
Oct. 26th 2011 (Wed.) Term One starts
Dec. 17th 2011 (Sat.) Term One ends

Feb. 29th 2012 (Wed.) Term Two starts
Apr. 21st 2012 (Sat.) Term Two ends

Oct. 17th 2012 (Wed.) Term Three starts
Dec. 8th 2012 (Sat.) Term Three ends

1. Registration fee: RMB 50
2. Tuition: RMB 3500 (8 weeks / a term)
3. The fees for books and accessories: around RMB 150

Wintertime Chinese Course in 2012

Brief introduction of Wintertime Chinese courses (basic, intermediate, & advanced Chinese):

Wintertime Chinese courses (basic, intermediate, & advanced Chinese) are to start on Jan. 9th 2012 and end on Feb. 10th (4 weeks for the Chinese courses; Jan 22rd to Jan. 29th are the holidays for the Chinese Spring Festival).

Small-class teaching is available. The number of students in one class varies from 5 (Min.) to 15 participants. If there are less than 5 participants in one class, the tuition will be charged referring to the tuition of the individual Chinese courses.

Curriculum: Chinese reading and conversation

Time schedule: All the courses are delivered in the morning from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm Monday to Friday (45 minutes per lesson, 4 lessons each morning, and 20 lessons per week).

Books and accessories: Subject to the material price.
