
1. Shanghai International College of
Culture:
Shanghai International College of Culture (SICC) is the non-government
sponsored college authorized by the Chinese government to provide
foreign students the opportunity in learning Chinese Language and
Culture. Over 2000 foreign students from more than 30 different counties
have studied in SICC since its establishment. The main campus of the
College is located in the center of Shanghai, near Huai Hai Road(middle).
The other campuses are located in Hong Qiao Developing Zoom.
The special feature of SICC is flexibility. It can offer different
classes and services for foreign students to learn Chinese Language
and Culture. To meet different needs of foreign students, SICC sets
up long term and short term courses, regular and elective courses,
group and individual instructions; day-time; evening or weekend
courses. Classes will be available either at college or other places
per students' choices. SICC can also organize various cultural tours
and field trips. The faculty of SICC consists of highly qualified
professors, associate professors, and experienced young teachers,
with good mastery of one or two foreign languages. The faculty also
has rich experience in teaching Chinese Language and Culture. In
addition to study using materials of Beijing Language and Culture
University or East China Normal University, SICC also adapts complimentary
materials to meet students' special needs. The different kinds of
hands-on and recreational classes are well received by SICC students.
A certificate will be issued to the students who have fulfilled
minimum 80 class-hours by the college.

Classes

(1)
Chinese Language classes:
Basic Chinese, intermediate level Chinese, advanced level Chinese,
coaching for HSK (primary, basic and intermediate, advance of
level), Business Language in Chinese, Mandarin and Shanghai
dialect.
(2)
Chinese Culture class:
Survey of China (history, georgraphy, folk customs, Chinese
politics, Chinese economy), Taiji and swordplay, China Painting,
calligraphy, massage, dietary healthy food, Chinese folk music,
western music, Chinese cooking, Chinese traditional embroidery,
etc.
In accordance with students' requests, SICC can offer some special
lectures in terms of Chinese economics and the relationship
to the world, the reform and open policy and the economic developing
of Shanghai, the contemporary Chinese society and culture, etc.

English and Japanese program classes.

* Classes in SICC are always small with 5-10 students per class.
(1) Long-term courses: half a year or one year.
Spring term: opens in February/ March every year.
Autumn/Fall term: opens in September every year.
(2) Short-term courses:
1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months.
(3) Individuate Instruction:
Both short-term and long-term courses are provided.
(4) Evening-time courses:
From Monday to Friday and daytime courses for Weekends.

SICC can help the students to find the home-stay,
or hotels near the school.
To stay in the home-stay, about 10©O (100 Sq Ft)/per room , the
fee is 2,000~3,000 Yuan RMB/per month;
Fee for hotel (Shanghai Education Hotel): 240 Yuan RMB/per day

The accommodations fee is paid by the students. |

Application procedures and registration: |
| |
(1) Applicants in Shanghai should visit
SICC in person; fill out the Application Form; pay the tuition;
confirm the courses, time and place of the class.

(2) Applicants abroad:
Ask for Application Form from SICC and fill in "Application
Form of Shanghai International College of Culture for Foreign
Students" (or download it from the SICC web site: www.sicccn.com).
Send the filled form along with copy of the front page of Passport
and 30 USD application fee payable to SICC; (personal check
or money order is acceptable) 7 weeks before class begins. Upon
receiving the application and application fee, SICC will send
Admission Notice and Visa Clearance Form JW202 to applicants
three weeks before registration.
Applicants should take Admission Notice and Visa clearance Form
JW202 to the Chinese Embassy (or consulate) while applying for
"X" visa. (note: make sure to take back the JW202
Form)

(3) Those who are now in China without
"X" or "F" visa wish to study in SICC, we
will help them to apply or change their "X" visa in
China. |

(4) Applicants abroad who plan to study
at SICC in group can apply for "F" group visa in Chinese
Embassy with an invitation letter from SICC. |

(5) SICC will make arrangement to pick
up(or see off) the students at the airport upon their requests
at their own costs. |
